About halfway up, you start to realize how high you are going. The windows are small, so you do not get much of a view during the climb itself, which keeps the focus on the physical challenge. Reaching the crown observation area is an incredible moment! You emerge into a circular observation space with windows all around. The 360-degree views are absolutely breathtaking. You can see the entire New York Harbor, the Manhattan skyline in all directions, Ellis Island, the Statue Cruises boats coming and going, and on clear days, views that stretch for miles.
From the crown, you can identify iconic buildings like One World Trade Center, the Empire State Building, and bridges spanning the harbor.
